About Us

English Club Laos is a non-profit organization founded in 2013. It started as a small volunteer placement by teaching English to students in Laos and we’re 100% operated by local professional staff. All Board and staff members are Lao with the aim of teaching English to the young people of LuangPrabang and the impoverished regions of Northern Laos.

Laos being one of the poorest countries in the Asia-Pacific region, we strongly believe that English is a powerful enabler for the young Laotians seeking to improve their future and the lives of their families.
Our objective is to provide high-quality English teaching to the young people of Laos.  Our students come from various backgrounds, including some of the poorest regions of Northern Laos. With the training and support we provide, we do our best to ensure that young Laotians are better equipped to make the most of opportunities: whether it is to get a better job in the local tourist industry or to pursue further studies within Laos and the neighbouring countries, etc…
Our approach combines structured classroom education, delivered by qualified Lao teachers, with exposure to English-speaking volunteers who assist with pronunciation and practicing conversations.

For this reason, we started as a small community English class to encourage volunteers to join and contribute to the English teaching program and with your help, we believe in making dreams and aspirations possible for our students!
