Creating the ideal environment for English teaching

At English Club Laos, we provide educational opportunities that help young people build essential language and life skills. Our programs are designed to be practical, inclusive, and community-focused, ensuring that students from all backgrounds have the chance to learn and grow.

Teaching

We offer English classes for students of varying ages and levels:

  • Beginner Level: For students with no or minimal English background, focusing on basic vocabulary, grammar, and everyday communication.
  • Elementary & Intermediate Levels: Builds language structure and introduces conversation, writing, and reading comprehension.
  • Advanced Communication: Prepares students for university studies, job interviews, tourism work, or English proficiency tests.

Teaching Style: Our lessons are interactive and student-centered. We focus on real-life communication skills using group work, role-play, presentations, and daily conversation exercises.

Classrooms

Our English classes are organized into three levels and follow a structured curriculum supported by modern, up-to-date teaching materials. Volunteers work alongside our local teachers to support students ranging from 8 to 35 years old.

Each class follows a defined syllabus that focuses on developing key language skills, including:

  • Reading and comprehension
  • Pronunciation
  • Writing and grammar
  • Sentence construction
  • Practical conversation

Lessons are 70 minutes in duration, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and running throughout the day, with the final class starting at 6:40 p.m. Every student receives a textbook to support their learning. These textbooks include a variety of exercises that are completed both in the classroom, with guidance from teachers and volunteers, and at home as assigned homework. Regular assessments are conducted to monitor progress and ensure students are successfully retaining what they have learned. These evaluations also help our teaching team tailor lesson delivery to meet students’ needs.

Conversation

Class schedules also include dedicated conversation sessions, where students engage in informal discussions with our volunteers. These sessions play a vital role in our program as they provide students with valuable opportunities to practice and improve their English communication skills in a natural and interactive setting. Through meaningful conversations, students not only build confidence in speaking but also gain insights into the volunteers’ cultures, countries, and personal experiences—often forming genuine friendships along the way.
